About The Position

Develop all competitive grant proposals to federal and state agencies and private grant-making foundations in efforts to secure funding on behalf of Johnson County Community College (JCCC).

  • Conducts complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment.
  • Requires a master's degree and 3 + years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, prepare, and submit innovative, persuasive, and competitive grant proposals in collaboration with multiple faculty and staff project teams at all levels, including Cabinet members.
  • Manage the submission process and ensure all deadlines and requirements are met.
  • Work with departmental leadership to develop, implement, and assess grant strategies and processes.
  • Create complex grant-supported project budgets and financial projections based on the interpretation of funding requirements and restrictions.
  • Interpret guidelines to faculty, staff, and JCCC leadership for federal, state, and private foundation requests for proposals.
  • Lead the annual forecasting initiative to identify potential funding opportunities aligned with JCCC’s strategic goals.
  • Conduct extensive research and vet potential funding opportunities for feasibility and required institutional match.
  • Collect and analyze supporting data and information for proposals.
  • Compile and report upon results to support proposal development.
  • Grow JCCC’s grant portfolio by identifying and presenting new funding opportunities to key staff and faculty, proactively communicating opportunities that address program needs.
  • Coordinate internal marketing efforts for Grants Leadership & Development to promote services to faculty and staff.
  • Conduct annual workshops and sessions at the biennial STEM Faculty Retreat.
  • Attend program advisory board meetings and departmental meetings to communicate funding opportunities and initiatives.
  • Identify, pursue, cultivate, and enhance relationships with contacts and partners at private foundations, state and federal agencies, and other potential funding sources in support of funding needs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and reporting requirements related to grant development and administration.
  • Ensure all processes, procedures, and operations are in accordance with departmental and JCCC policies.
  • Investigate new grant opportunities and research grant development trends and best practices.
