About The Position
The Sr. Global Commodity Manager for Industrial Automation and Controls at Amazon Robotics plays a pivotal role in the Supply Chain and Operations organization, which is responsible for sourcing and manufacturing a diverse portfolio of robotics technology. This position is based in Seattle, Washington, and involves managing supplier relationships, ensuring that suppliers meet the technical and commercial specifications necessary for Robotics to satisfy its internal Manufacturing Operations, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, and Hardware Engineering customers. The ideal candidate will be a self-managed and driven sourcing strategist with a strong background in global supplier management, particularly in the semiconductor industry. They will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies that align with engineering teams to support the development of cutting-edge technologies while achieving cost reduction goals. In this role, the Sr. Global Commodity Manager will collaborate with various business functions, including technical operations, engineering, and program teams, to define product requirements for new product introduction programs. They will also develop efficient mechanisms for communicating forecast and capacity requirements for sustaining and new products, monitor supplier performance, and address any supply or quality issues that arise. The candidate will be tasked with aligning supplier strategies with Robotics objectives, maintaining monthly supplier scorecards, and conducting quarterly executive business reviews. The position requires periodic travel to suppliers' domestic and international manufacturing sites, approximately 25% of the time. Amazon Robotics is located in the greater Boston area, with development hubs in Seattle and Europe, and is committed to applying advances in robotics and software to solve real-world problems that enhance customer experiences. The Supply Chain team is integral to ensuring that the right materials are sourced and delivered at the right time to support Amazon's global fulfillment and transportation solutions.
