About The Position

Job Summary Directly reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant - Funds will be responsible for full-service reporting, analysis, and reconciliation of funds holding multiple solar energy projects. This will include preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, month-end closing process, preparing financial statements and audit compliance. The successful candidate will be one who takes ownership of the assigned funds and has a willingness to learn and do whatever is necessary to get the job done in an accurate and timely manner.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited four-year college or university with two (2) to four (4) years of experience; experience in public accounting or at a publicly traded company is preferred.
  • Ability to be a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to effectively collaborate with other business functions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Oracle Fusion Cloud software is desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of financial activities in more than one functional area of accounting, such as general accounting, cost accounting, financial budgeting, and analysis.
  • Complete monthly accounting close process and fund partnership reporting.
  • Maintains proper controls, documentation, and reconciliations in the company's financial accounting systems.
  • Ensures that transactions are properly authorized, documented and recognized in accordance with the company's SOX compliant control environment.
  • Ensures that fund financial reports accurately reflect the financial performance and condition of the business.
  • Prepares financial statements in accordance with general accepting accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Applies knowledge of GAAP accounting topics, to include fixed assets, leases, asset retirement obligations, taxes, and debt.
  • Partners with various company departments, including Finance, Asset Management, Legal, and Transaction teams.
  • Recommends and participates in changes to systems, policies, and procedures to ensure timely and accurate implementation.
  • Assists with external audit requests and inquiries.
