Sr. Full Stack Engineer/Active Clearance/Onsite - FL

Lockheed MartinOrlando, FL
2dOnsite

About The Position

We are looking for a Full‑Stack Engineer who will design, develop, and support mission‑critical applications that run on our on‑premise infrastructure. In addition to defining and implementing DevSecOps architecture, the day‑to‑day work includes: Monitoring and troubleshooting production services running on Linux and Windows hosts, using log aggregation and observability tools (e.g., Splunk). Applying patches, updates, and configuration changes to existing servers and container images to keep the environment secure and compliant. Managing service‑level incidents, performing root‑cause analysis, and documenting corrective actions. Provisioning and scaling resources (VMs, storage, networking) through Infrastructure‑as‑Code scripts to meet changing workload demands. Supporting developers by answering questions about environment constraints, assisting with local‑to‑production migrations, and providing guidance on best practices for containerization and CI/CD integration. Ensuring licensing compliance, configuring floating/license servers, and integrating license checks into deployment pipelines. The role sits at the intersection of software development, systems engineering, and scientific research, collaborating daily with engineers, developers, and scientists across multiple departments to deliver new capabilities. The candidate will partner with IT Systems Engineers to build the infrastructure necessary to scale the solutions while continuously improving the DevSecOps processes.

Requirements

  • Ability to maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Programming: Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Software Development Concepts: Familiarity with modern development practices: CI/CD pipelines, micro‑service‑oriented architectures, containerization, Infrastructure‑as‑Code, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Version Control: Proven experience with enterprise‑grade version‑control systems (e.g., GitLab, GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps).
  • Agile Tooling: Experience using Agile collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence for planning, tracking, and documentation.
  • Licensing Management: Demonstrated ability to administer and troubleshoot software licensing solutions, including configuration of floating licenses (FlexLM, LM‑Xpress, Sentinel HASP) and license servers.
  • Containerization: Advanced experience building, deploying, and troubleshooting containers with Docker, Podman, or Apptainer.
  • Security Certification: Security+ certification (or an equivalent security‑focused credential).

Nice To Haves

  • Kubernetes: Exposure to Kubernetes platforms (EKS, AKS, or OpenShift) for container orchestration and workload management.
  • DevOps Platforms: Proficient in GitLab, GitHub Enterprise, and DevOps for source control, pull‑request workflows, and pipeline orchestration.
  • Virtualization: Hands‑on implementation of server/desktop virtualization using Microsoft Hyper‑V, VMware vSphere, and ESXi (design, provisioning, and maintenance).
  • CI/CD Automation: Design and automation of end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines, integrating testing, security scans, and deployment across cloud environments.
  • Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC): Proficient with IaC tools such as Terraform or Ansible, and configuration‑management tools (e.g., Chef, Puppet).
  • Windows Systems: Deep knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Windows Client (10/11) OS administration, hardening, and scripting (PowerShell).
  • Linux Systems: Solid experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or compatible Enterprise Linux distributions (system configuration, package management, SELinux, and troubleshooting).
  • Vulnerability Management: Experience conducting vulnerability assessments, prioritizing findings, and leading application remediation (Tenable).

Responsibilities
