Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Full Stack Engineer to guide the team responsible for the stability, performance, and reliability of Project Iris, Comcast’s next generation GIS based CAD platform for broadband network design. Iris is a core strategic system within AeGIS, the CONNECT organization that builds the tools enabling the construction, improvement, and long term evolution of Comcast’s nationwide access network. The system supports the planning and design of more than one million miles of coax and fiber infrastructure, and integrates automation capabilities that reduce design cycle time and cost. As Comcast continues deploying some of the most advanced broadband networks in the world, Iris plays a critical role in ensuring our design and deployment teams have the tools needed to work at scale. Built on modern technologies including Unity3D, Node.js, MongoDB, and AWS, Iris demands strong architectural stewardship and engineering leadership to maintain enterprise grade performance, resiliency, and accuracy. Job Description In this role, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for diagnosing, triaging, and resolving production issues across the full stack. You will own root‑cause analysis of complex system behaviors and design forward‑looking solutions that improve system scalability, robustness, and availability. You will mentor engineers, establish best practices, and drive continuous improvements in code quality, observability, and operational excellence. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring both deep technical expertise and the ability to guide a team through ambiguity, complex technical challenges, and high‑priority production scenarios. Expertise across the Iris stack—Node.js, Unity3D/C#, MongoDB—as well as deep understanding of broadband network architecture is essential. Broadband domain expertise should include: HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coax) rPHY (Remote PHY) EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Networks) DAA (Distributed Access Architectures) DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing)

Requirements

  • 7+ years building and supporting enterprise‑scale software systems, including leadership responsibilities such as mentoring, code reviews, and architectural decision‑making
  • 5+ years of hands‑on development experience with Node.js in high‑performance, distributed architectures
  • 5+ years of experience designing, optimizing, and implementing solutions on MongoDB
  • 3+ years of professional Python development
  • Experience with Unity3D and C# for interactive client applications
  • Experience integrating with GIS platforms and spatial data systems
  • Strong experience establishing and using observability platforms such as ELK , Kibana , and Grafana
  • Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools , including Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), and their practical application in engineering workflows
  • 7+ years of direct experience with broadband access network technologies (HFC, rPHY, EPON, DAA, DWDM) and the ability to translate domain knowledge into technical decision‑making
  • Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams through production issues, drive permanent fixes, establish operational best practices, and improve long‑term product stability

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers responsible for diagnosing, triaging, and resolving production issues across the full stack.
  • Own root‑cause analysis of complex system behaviors and design forward‑looking solutions that improve system scalability, robustness, and availability.
  • Mentor engineers, establish best practices, and drive continuous improvements in code quality, observability, and operational excellence.
