SAIC is currently seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Principal Software Engineer to join our team in Ashburn, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career with SAIC Federal Systems. This is a hybrid-remote position requiring 2 days on site per week in Ashburn, VA.

  • Active member of the agile software development team participating in all Program Increment and Sprint ceremonies.
  • Design and develop .Net applications including middleware applications, user interface applications (java script framework), and web services applications.
  • Develop and integrate with PostgreSQL server databases.
  • Develop software design documentation which may include design diagrams, data flow diagrams, software module descriptions, etc.
  • Use Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tools to include Microsoft Visual Studio and GIT
  • Manage software testing activities to include data setup, defect troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Provide Tier 3 / 4 engineering support, as needed, for solutions deployed to production.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance.
  • Middleware and User interface driven applications.
  • Web Services development.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and resolution skills.
  • Multi-threaded applications; Exception handling.
  • Integration with hardware devices and vendor Software development Kits (SDKs).
  • Ability to work in team environments across a diverse set of projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Javascript, Vue.js, C#, .NET Core, Web API, Visual Studio code, Harness, Gitlab, xUnit, SonarQube.
  • AWS experience.
  • Agile development.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a directly related field and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD and nine (9) years related experience.
  • 9+ years of experience in software development/engineering.
  • Current holder of a DHS Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Note: Employment will be contingent upon having/obtaining a DHS Public Trust clearance prior to starting.
