What You’ll Do System Architecture: Design and lead development of scalable, robust backend and full stack systems supporting high-volume, low-latency integrations. Technical Direction: Set technical standards, evaluate new technologies, and drive adoption of best practices across the team. End-to-End Ownership: Take ownership of complex features and projects, shepherding them from concept and design through delivery and long-term support. Mentorship: Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers; guide technical solution with the team through design and code reviews and promote engineering excellence. Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with product, business, and external partners to shape solutions that meet business objectives. Continuous Improvement: Identify process bottlenecks and proactively implement improvements across systems, architecture, and deployment workflows. Incident Response: Lead problem resolution for high-priority issues and drive efforts to improve reliability and resilience. What We’re Looking For Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including designing complex production systems. Backend Proficiency: Advanced development experience in at least one modern backend language, such as Java, C++, Python, or Go. Frontend Skills: Proficiency with a modern JavaScript framework (React, Vue, or Angular) is preferred. System Design & Databases: Strong grasp of scaling distributed systems, microservices, SQL/NoSQL data modeling, and API design (REST, gRPC, GraphQL). Cloud & DevOps: Proven track record deploying and operating systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Leadership: Demonstrated ability to technically lead projects and teams. Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication skills with experience driving alignment with stakeholders and external partners. Growth Mindset: Proactive learner, excited to mentor others and explore new technologies. Bonus: Experience in mobility, telematics, ridesharing, or integrating large-scale third-party partner APIs. We expect the starting salary to be around $120k but will be commensurate with experience.
