About The Position

This person works as a team to provide food service that is safe, accurate, timely and responsive to the customer and patient’s needs. Food service includes stocking, assembling, and serving portion controlled hot and cold food, replenishing and stocking stations, and general sanitation duties. This position is in Catering Food Services which includes setup, serving, and cleanup of catering events across UCSF Health sites. This position may be responsible for driving catering van with food and supplies to events. This person maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the foodservice areas and equipment. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer, patient, and staff interactions and is looked upon as the ambassador for the department of Nutrition and Food Services. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $27.25 - $36.69 (Hourly Rate). Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 2 years of customer facing experience within the food service, hospitality or retail industries
  • Read, write, follow written or oral instructions and be understood in English
  • Basic computer skills
  • This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
  • Ability to meet physical demands involved with job duties as outlined below

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of college or equivalent
  • State of California Food Handler certification or Servsafe certification
