We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our organization as we develop safety critical software for medical devices that hundreds of thousands of people around the world depend on daily. In this role you will be working in fast-paced cross-functional teams to develop software and Application Tools for our glucose sensing devices to scale manufacturing processes and increase yield. We’re looking for someone with knowledge in desktop application software development and Interoperability with Embedded devices to help us transform diabetes care around the world. This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. This role requires you to work on-site at our Northridge, CA office at least 3 days per week. This on-site presence is vital for collaboration and maintaining strong team connections. Please be aware that the hybrid schedule may change based on business needs, potentially requiring additional on-site days. As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for software development. The primary role for this position is writing the desktop applications software interfacing with a CGM Sensor in the manufacturing line. As part of this role, you will also coordinate technical discussions and problem solving for software projects and collaborate with the electrical engineering and operations teams on the impacts of design decisions. You will be a key interface between the sensor team and other software teams and functions including participating in change control and risk analysis activities as part of the software quality process. Key Technical Competencies: Expert in software engineering best practices for desktop application software development. Experience in desktop software development using C#/Python Developing applications using Bluetooth Low Energy communication protocols and Serial Interfaces. Interpret, understand, and provide feedback on software requirements. Perform requirement analysis to determine completeness and compliance with software/manufacturing systems. Ability to work with requirement management tools. Familiar with software development for high-volume manufacturing. Recognized as a technical leader of software development methods for safety critical, fault tolerant manufacturing systems.
