About The Position

The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant is responsible for the preparation, review, and coordination of accurate and timely external and internal financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS. This role partners closely with Technical Accounting, Consolidations, FP&A, and External Auditors, and plays a critical role in quarterly and annual reporting, including complex disclosures, equity, debt, cash flow, and footnote support. This position is designed for a CPA with strong SEC-style reporting discipline, even if filings are private company focused.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience
  • Public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA Required
  • Fluent spoken and written skills in English required
  • Strong US GAAP knowledge, including financial statement presentation and disclosures (IFRS knowledge is preferred)
  • Advanced understanding of cash flow statement preparation
  • Experience with complex debt structures and equity transactions
  • NetSuite experience preferred; advanced Excel skills required
  • High attention to detail and strong-review mindset
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines during close and audit cycles
  • Strong written communication for technical accounting and disclosures
  • Proactive, ownership-driven approach with the ability to operate independently
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with financial reporting software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written communication for technical accounting and disclosures.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, macros) and proficiency in data analysis tools.
  • Experience with financial consolidations and multi-entity reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with private equity-backed or highly leveraged companies preferred
  • Real estate, infrastructure, or capital-intensive industry experience a plus
  • Knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Close Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, statement of equity, and cash flows
  • Own key areas of the close related to reporting schedules, roll forwards, and disclosure support
  • Ensure consistency between financial statement face pages, supporting schedules, and footnotes
  • Partner with the Consolidations team on intercompany eliminations, FX, and equity activity
  • Ensure the intercompany reports are reviewed
  • External Reporting & Disclosures Prepare and maintain financial statement footnotes, including: Debt and covenant disclosures Equity and mezzanine equity Leases (ASC 842) Revenue and customer concentration Impairments and significant judgments
  • Support annual audited financial statements and interim reporting packages
  • Coordinate directly with external auditors and respond to audit requests
  • Technical Accounting Support Assist with the application and documentation of complex accounting matters (e.g., ASC 810, ASC 842, equity transactions, asset impairments)
  • Prepare technical memos and support conclusions reached by Technical Accounting
  • Monitor new accounting pronouncements and assist with implementation impact analysis
  • Process Improvement & Controls Improve financial reporting processes, templates, and documentation
  • Support SOX-like controls, audit trails, and review procedures
  • Partner with systems teams to enhance NetSuite reporting and automation
  • Contribute to accounting policy documentation and reporting standards as the company scales
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with FP&A on variance explanations and management reporting
  • Support M&A, financing, and corporate transactions from a reporting perspective
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting support to senior leadership
  • Coordinate with external consultants and auditors to support financial reporting requirements
