Visit us online at: https://www.nwths.com/careers Position: Sr. Financial Counselor Position Summary: The employee assumes responsibility and accountability of assisting and providing coverage in various staff positions related to functions of admission/registration/discharge of patients. The person in this position also orders supplies and maintains supply level for all Admitting areas. Monitors the timely flow of tubal consent forms obtained for Medicaid patients. Hours and days fluctuate according to coverage needed. This position supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer groups.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum one-year job related experience recommended
  • Health care background and computer experience desirable
  • Recommend moderate to intense concentration and attention to detail
  • Multi-Task oriented
  • Typing skills

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the appropriate skills in accepting responsibilities of assignments while exhibiting teamwork techniques and effective communications which contribute to the overall operation of the Department.
  • Understands, participates in, and contributes to quality improvement process for the Department and Institution.
  • Applies appropriate policies and procedures, as set forth by the Department of Business Systems for the purpose of assessing and communicating patient needs, from pre-admission through dismissal.
  • Obtains insurance, financial and medical information, and any forms or screenings and applications necessary to secure payment.
  • Maintains supply levels for the Admitting area and monitors the flow of tubal consent forms for proper billing purposes.
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability of assisting and providing coverage in various admitting staff positions.
  • Cross-train to other job duties as deemed appropriate by Supervisor/Director.
  • Accept additional duties as assigned.
  • Assumes responsibility for position’s impact on the departmental budget as it relates to the overall functioning of the organization.
