Position Overview: In this role, you will lead and provide direction for the accounting and controls activities for Polaris’ Off-Road Vehicles business, ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong governance across a complex, global operation. You will set strategy, partner closely with cross-functional leaders, and serve as a key member of Polaris’ global controllership team. You will also shape internal controls, support decision-making, and help the organization manage financial risk. This is a compelling opportunity to influence a major business unit while driving meaningful improvements in financial processes and controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum 10 years of accounting experience. Public accounting and/or manufacturing industry experience required.
  • Public accounting and/or manufacturing industry experience.
  • Expertise in U.S. GAAP and internal control implementation.
  • Experience with financial reporting systems and process improvement.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including experience supporting change management and risk mitigation.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA strongly preferred; MBA a plus

Responsibilities

  • Set the accounting and control strategy for the Off-Road Vehicles business and maintain a strong global control environment.
  • Oversee operational accounting activities, ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient financial close processes, including data collection, analysis, accounting, and reporting.
  • Ensure integrity of monthly accruals, reporting entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and related analysis.
  • Collaborate with business teams to ensure proper accounting for operational changes and maintain sound end-to-end controls across Engineering, Operations, FP&A, and Commercialization.
  • Interpret and apply global accounting policies, partnering with the Assistant Corporate Controller on policy revisions and exception requests.
  • Design, implement, and enhance internal controls to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, internal policies, and local regulations.
  • Drive process improvements across accounting systems, tools, and workflows.
  • Lead, develop, and engage team members to support high performance and collaboration.
  • Manage internal and external audit requests and partner during financial audits.
  • Build relationships and share best practices with other Polaris controllers through participation in the Controller Leadership Team.
