About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and client-focused Sr. Financial Consultant to join our growing team. This position serves as a strategic advisor to corporate executives, boards of directors, and financial leadership teams. In this role, you will evaluate corporate financial performance, analyze balance sheet and capital structures, and design customized executive benefit and investment strategies that support long-term organizational objectives. This position requires deep expertise in balance sheet management, financial analysis, and GAAP reporting considerations associated with alternative investment and executive benefit-based financial solutions. The consultant will translate complex financial and accounting implications into actionable strategies that support clients’ financial and strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • 10+ years of executive or senior leadership experience in finance, accounting, corporate treasury, or investment portfolio management
  • Demonstrated experience working with or advising executives, boards of directors, or senior leadership teams
  • Proven experience in financial statement preparation, financial analysis and reporting, balance sheet management, and financial audits

  • Financial services industry experience
  • Prior CFO, senior finance leader, or treasurer experience
  • Relevant professional certifications or licenses (e.g., CPA, CFA, CFP, ChFC, Series 7, Series 66)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as trusted advisor to executives and channel partners on executive retirement and alternative investment strategies
  • Conduct financial needs analyses and cost/benefit assessments to develop customized solutions aligned with client objectives
  • Collaborate with AFA's Growth Team and Principals to present tailored financial strategies to executive leadership teams, boards, and key decision-makers
  • Perform product/solution due diligence and maintain strong client relationships through ongoing performance updates and strategic planning
  • Identify new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and strategic outreach to expand services and deepen client relationships
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices
  • Analyze client financial statements to assess business performance, capital structure, liquidity, and financial risk exposure
  • Evaluate balance sheet and capital structure implications of executive benefit and insurance-based financial strategies
  • Assess GAAP accounting treatment and regulatory reporting implications for executive benefit structures and investment products
  • Collaborate with client executives, finance teams, and external advisors to ensure alignment with financial accounting and regulatory standards
  • Translate complex financial and accounting concepts into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Represent AFA's mission, values, and strategic vision as a firm ambassador
  • Cultivate relationships with industry partners and stakeholders to support strategic growth
  • Represent AFA at industry conferences, trade events, and community engagements
  • Contribute to thought leadership through speaking engagements, publications, and professional forums
  • Promote a culture of integrity, collaboration, and excellence
  • Provide leadership and support across all AFA teams
