About The Position

Medical Mutual is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to provide complex analysis and accurate and timely financial information. This role involves generating management reports and interfacing with corporate departments as necessary. The analyst will work independently to solve problems, complete special projects, and conduct monthly activities, acting as a resource for colleagues with less experience. The position supports corporate departments with generating forecasts and analyzing trends, compiling and reviewing budgets, analyzing income statements, and performing various accounting duties. The analyst will also stay abreast of industry trends to propose solutions to management regarding business or accounting ramifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience preferred.
  • MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent preferred.
  • Advanced Office skills, including MS Access.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting rules and concepts.
  • Knowledge of rates of return, depreciation, investments, and portfolio covariance analysis.
  • Proficient in the use of automated accounting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Supports corporate departments with generating forecasts and analyzing trends.
  • Compiles and reviews budgets for corporate departments.
  • Analyzes income statements and prepares reports and recommendations to management.
  • Performs various accounting duties including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Maintains accurate spending records and establishes measures for budgetary control.
  • Conducts complex research and studies as needed.
  • Coaches, mentors, and provides guidance on daily activities.
  • Stays updated on industry trends to propose solutions to management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
