AWS Finance seeks a world class Senior Financial Analyst to be a key member of its team. This position will work closely with finance management as well as key business partners to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership in the S3 and Glacier services space. Some key responsibilities will include: - Oversee external customer usage and revenue for the S3 and Glacier businesses and track usage and revenue performance against goals on a weekly and monthly basis. Conduct gap to goal analysis and deliver written and oral communication to senior leadership. - Developing short and long range demand and revenue forecasts. And provide documentation to support the annual OP planning reviews with the senior leadership. - Providing customer analytical insights by looking at customer demand patterns that drive impact to the business. - Run customer deal evaluation models and help business leaders to make pricing decisions. - Taking the lead in financial planning and analysis; building complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance against goals. The successful candidate will implement and drive the core financial processes for the business including Annual Operating Plans, Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews, identify and quantify financial/operational Risks and Opportunities (R&O) to the business, and drive ad-hoc customer demand analytics. Additional responsibilities include helping run customer deal evaluations to support pricing decision. This role requires a self-starter with a strong financial modeling background, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations, and solid skills in project management. This role has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong people skills

Requirements

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, or CPA
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL
  • 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  • 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
  • 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
