About The Position

The Sr. Financial Analyst at SpaceX plays a crucial role in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), focusing on the development, tracking, forecasting, reporting, and accounting for all SpaceX projects. This position has executive-level visibility and is responsible for driving spending and contract profitability across various product lines, including Starlink, Starship, Falcon, and Dragon. The analyst will collaborate with multiple departments, including production, engineering, sales, and executive management, to provide insights and support operational decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in an accounting, finance, or business role

Responsibilities

  • Lead forecast of key performance indicators (KPIs) for assigned business groups, including spending and resource requirements.
  • Forecast future unit costs with cross-functional teams and track progress in achieving cost reduction targets.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support operational decision-making from idea generation to implementation.
  • Perform a leading role on internal projects, translating key business issues into financial models and metrics.
  • Prepare and update capital expenditure and inventory cash forecasts.
  • Support product cost tracking and inventory analysis, including scrap and inventory obsolescence.
  • Develop and enhance tools to track revenue performance and incurred project costs monthly.
  • Provide insight on revenue, spending variances, and department-level reporting to business partners.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data for management reviews.
