About The Position

Reporting to the Director of FP&A, Channels, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the financial planning, decision support, and reporting for the Retail channel. This role will support monthly/quarterly rolling forecasts, along with the annual budgeting and long-term planning processes. The Senior Financial Analyst will work across the business to report on and monitor KPI’s/trends in performance to inform business decisions, establish budget vs. actual reporting, and support the updating of financial models to support forecast/close reviews. This position requires a detailed focused and organized individual, with an ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines. The ideal candidate will have strong work ethics, good communication skills with an ability to work well with others but also independently.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree from an accredited university in accounting or finance.
5+ years of progressive finance experience, preferably in consumer goods or another inventory-related field.
Strong analytical skills – Advanced analysis and excel skills, and familiarity using and extracting data from various systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking with a natural curiosity to find the answer.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Must be detail-oriented and organized, with an ability to maintain multiple versions of forecasts.
Solid written and verbal communication skills are important, due to the need to work cross functionally in a fast-growing company.
Flexible team player that enjoys hands on responsibilities, with an ability to be proactive and self-starter. Ability to work independently and effectively research and solve problems.

Nice To Haves

Certified Public Accountant or MBA preferred.
Familiarity with BI tools a plus Power BI, MicroStrategy).
Apparel industry and experience with Microsoft d365, EPM tool set, Shopify a plus.

Responsibilities

Manage and report financial plans and forecasts. Provide visibility to actual results versus budget, forecast and prior year.
Support the existing forecast and budget process, including managing key dates and deliverables, establishing regular review meetings to communicate monthly results and determine impacts where relevant to the rolling forecast.
Collaborate with department heads to prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, monitoring and reporting on budget vs. actual performance.
Provide assistance and analysis on store pro forma financial statements/related metrics and support hindsight analysis.
Analyze and interpret financial results, providing insights into key performance indicators and highlighting trends, risk, and opportunities.
Support the accounting close by reviewing variances from the forecast to identify any necessary accruals or other adjustments to the financial statements.
Contribute to the development of the strategic plan by providing financial analysis and insights; assessing the financial impact of potential business initiatives.
Prepare and present financial reports and presentations to senior management and stakeholders.
Communicate financial performance and key metrics effectively.
Support system implementations/enhancements (e.g. ERP, EPM tool). Drive the development and implementation of financial tools, models, and dashboards, enhancing efficiency and data accuracy.
Partner with the Data & Analytics team to develop KPI-based dashboards and expand financial reporting, leveraging existing technologies to automate financial reporting.
Create what-if business models to analyze potential outcomes from strategic decisions.
