About the position

PACCAR is seeking a motivated Sr. Financial Analyst to join the Financial Reporting team. This role focuses on analyzing and compiling financial and non-financial information from multiple divisions to ensure accurate reporting of the Company's financials to upper management and compliance with SEC regulations. The position offers opportunities to lead a rotating internal team of accounting professionals in preparing and filing SEC documents, contributing to process improvements, and assisting with accounting policy updates.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and project management of the Company's SEC filings including 8-Ks, 10-Qs, 10-Ks, annual reports and employee benefit plan statements
  • Perform peer analysis research
  • Supervise the quarterly and annual reporting team assistants
  • Coordinate with external auditors during the quarterly review process and annual audit
  • Responsible for lessee accounting software maintenance
  • Coordinate and provide training as required to PACCAR locations on external reporting requirements or policies
  • Participate in documentation and testing for Sarbanes Oxley (SOX)
  • Perform technical GAAP / SEC research and prepare position papers
  • Assist with the adoption of new accounting pronouncements and develop/update related policy and procedures
  • Assist with future system upgrades and implementations as assigned
  • Various projects and special analysis as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA Certification or pursuit of CPA certificate
  • Minimum 3+ years relevant work experience
  • Strong working knowledge of SEC rules and regulations
  • Public accounting and industry experience with multinational publicly traded company preferred
  • Active Disclosure or other financial reporting tool experience preferred
  • SAP or other top tier consolidation software experience/knowledge preferred
  • Strong technical and analytical accounting skills with intermediate to advanced computer skills in Excel (i.e. pivot tables, macros, charts and graphs) and data analytic tools (i.e. Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivated, handling multiple tasks and shifting priorities in a team environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to influence and work with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work extended hours in office during the financial reporting quarterly and year end process
