About The Position

The Sr. FinOps Specialist - Cloud Economics at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is responsible for driving successful IT transformation and adoption by collaborating with customers to optimize their use of AWS services. This role focuses on financial management, cost optimization, and operational effectiveness, ensuring that customers leverage the full economic potential of AWS. The specialist will engage with various teams within customer organizations to implement best practices, generate insights, and facilitate long-term success in managing IT spend.

Requirements

• 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
• Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders
• Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
• Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
• Experience implementing Cloud Cost Optimization initiatives and FinOps best practices.

Nice To Haves

• Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements

Responsibilities

• Become the subject matter expert in all cost and commercial related aspects of the customer life-cycle
• Provide customers with cost related insights, metrics, and KPIs
• Educate and enable customers with tools to successfully manage IT spend
• Assess reporting and analytic needs of customers and identify solutions to meet those needs
• Communicate, establish, and measure KPIs to track progress and success of transformation and optimization within customer organizations
• Manage numerous requests concurrently & strategically
• Understand and communicate billing, forecasting, and budgeting best practices
