We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Senior Field Service Technician to support our Building Automation and HVAC Control Systems in the Elizabeth, New Jersey area. In this role, you will report directly to the Field Service Manager and play a key role in delivering high-quality service, technical support, and system optimization for our customer sites. You will work independently and as a technical leader within the team, providing advanced troubleshooting, programming, and commissioning support for complex building systems.

  • Provide expert-level service and support for building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC control systems, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and maintain EBI (Enterprise Buildings Integrator) front-end systems and CPO (Custom Programmable Output) DDC controllers.
  • Perform server patching, schedule and manage system backups, and carry out controller-level diagnostics and updates.
  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor for junior technicians, assisting with complex field issues and training as needed.
  • Interface directly with customers to assess system issues, recommend solutions, and ensure satisfaction with service delivery.
  • Perform diagnostics, commissioning, and system upgrades for BAS/HVAC systems across multiple customer sites.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of service activities, system updates, and site-specific configurations.
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on field experience in building automation and HVAC control systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of Honeywell EBI, CPO DDC controllers, or similar BAS platforms.
  • Proficient in BACnet and Modbus protocols for device programming, integration, and diagnostics.
  • Experience in server maintenance, including patching, backups, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Deep understanding of HVAC mechanical systems and their interaction with automation controls.
  • Excellent problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret control schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical plans.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Building Automation, HVAC Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications in BAS platforms (e.g., Honeywell, Tridium, Siemens, etc.).
  • Experience mentoring or training junior technicians.
  • Strong time management and ability to work independently across multiple sites.
  • Experience in mechanical system operation and design, particularly HVAC systems.
  • Ability to lead by example and represent the company professionally in customer environments.
