This position involves performing preventative maintenance, start-ups, and repairs on generators, including automatic transfer switches, diesel, and gaseous engines. The Sr. Field Service Commissioning Technician will diagnose and repair generator set systems and ancillary components in a field environment, performing complex power generation system commissioning and start-ups. Key responsibilities include scheduling and estimating work completion timeframes for gas, electrical, and commissioning of generator systems, reviewing commissioning requirements, and collaborating with other manufacturers and trades for project completion. The role also requires diagnosing and repairing or modifying equipment for gaseous, mechanical, and/or electrical system issues, consistently conforming to Standard Repair Time. This individual will act as a project lead, organizing and directing resources and personnel, and will utilize various Windows-based programs, email, proprietary diagnostic software, networking, and business management software. Professional and courteous interaction with customers to build relationships is also a critical aspect of the role. The technician is expected to promote a compliance culture and perform special projects as required.
