Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
  • Plus 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficient in interfacing with employees at all levels and collaborating across IMCS and Transportation Departments.
  • Skilled and experienced in MS Office, including creating spreadsheets, presentations, and memorandums.
  • Demonstrates expertise in railroad infrastructure inspection, maintenance, and construction, with basic knowledge of related crafts.
  • Knowledgeable in railroad operations, operating rules, and divisional processes, including track and OCS outages.
  • Familiar with Federal Railroad Regulations, including Roadway Worker Protection.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for handling all track inspection reports completed by field personnel across the division.
  • Efficiently plan work and allocate resources to ensure timely accomplishment of tasks.
  • Effectively communicate and build rapport with members of the Engineering Track Department, Division track managers, supervisors and foremen.
  • Provide mentoring leadership and training to division foremen and inspectors to develop skill sets to be capable of identifying root cause conditions, setting priorities for corrective work and recommending remedial actions in advance of service interruptions.
  • Provide 24/7 support for planned work and emergencies.
  • Assist DDE with planning track construction phase from the beginning to end of track department new construction.
  • Assist DDE with scheduling all work activity for major track outages and coordinating with C&S/ET, B&B and the Transportation Department to accomplish work schedules.
  • Assist the DDE in ensuring the quality of work performed on the division.
  • Responsible for the compliance with FRA standards for construction and maintenance of track for the Mid -Atlantic Division
