Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of four years of claims experience is required, with a preferred emphasis on homeowner claims.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in basic math and computer skills, with the ability to type 30 wpm.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Experience in handling multiple homeowner state policies and understanding of fair claims settlement practices and building codes preferred.
• Knowledge of and writing skills in Xactimate repair estimating system.
• Prior experience doing field inspections.
• Knowledge of home construction.
• Shows respect for differences through excellent communication skills with people from an array of backgrounds.

• Lives into cultural norms (e.g., willing to have cameras when it matters: helping onboard new team members, building relationships, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record required loss information from the insured.
• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle homeowners’ property/personal property claims.
• Handle low- to higher-complexity claims that typically require physical inspection.
• Be the owning adjuster for all claims assigned at the Field Adjuster level.
• Investigate and evaluate all elements of property loss claims of moderate-high severity both in the field and virtually.
• Contact and meet with the insured or 3rd party virtually or in-person to photograph and inspect all damaged dwellings, other structures, and personal property.
• Determine scope of repairs and prepare a repair bid using Xactimate estimating system.
• Come to an agreed cost of repair with the insured and possibly Network Repair Program contractor (NRP) or insured's contractor.
• Follow the repair process to conclusion.
• Ensure that the cause of the loss is thoroughly investigated and identified.
• Handle all correspondence to ensure the file is regulatory compliant.
