REYNOLDS AMERICAN has an exciting opportunity for a Sr Facilities Engineer, in Winston Salem, NC Your key responsibilities will include: Manage third party Facilities Management group. Work both in a team environment and independently to identify facility and process issues, determine possible solutions, evaluate costs and benefits of the credible alternatives, choose the appropriate resolution, and implement while working in an operating manufacturing environment. Act as a technical resource supporting project teams and maintenance organizations within the Corporation providing leadership and direction relative to mechanical or electrical concerns. Work with outside contractors and vendors to estimate, schedule and implement projects. Develop RFPs, specifications and bid packages, determine list of qualified contractors, evaluate bids and oversee execution of the resulting contracts. Participate in facility maintenance operations to insure protection of company assets. Proactively evaluate mechanical or electrical systems to judge remaining useful life and determine appropriate schedules and budgets for replacement to ensure integrity of building conditions and power supply. Lead design of new systems as required. Responsible for technical assignments that further develop engineering skills usually under supervision of a more senior technical staff. Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using experience and judgment in making adaptations and modifications. Lead assignments that have clear and specified goals.

Requirements

  • Background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience Leading or coordinating the work of others including contractors, vendors and consultants.
  • Project management skills with the ability to lead or support the execution of projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a cross functional team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, be pro-active, and communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform with urgency.
  • Ability to Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using experience and judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with +2 years of progressive experience or; Associate Degree in Engineering in related field with 7+ years progressive experience.
