Job Summary: The Senior Equipment Operator is responsible for manufacturing complex parts and products with a high degree of precision and independence. This role requires advanced technical skills to operate a variety of shop machinery and the ability to collaborate on custom projects to meet customer specifications.
Requirements
- Minimum - High School or GED
- Minimum - 3-5 years related experience and/or training
- Advanced knowledge of machines used for metal or wood production, such as saws, CNC routers, edge banders, press brakes, and panel benders
- Mechanically inclined; ability to work with shop machinery and basic hand tools
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16th of an inch
- Ability to add and subtract fractions
- Communicates well with others; speaks and writes clearly; asks for and offers help when needed
- Interpersonal; resolves questions and concerns in a professional manner; maintains confidentiality
- Detail oriented; meets quality standards and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
- Organized; completes work in a timely manner; able to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Problem-solver; gathers and analyzes information skillfully and generates suggestions for improving work
- Capable of working independently and as a member of a team; contributes to building a positive team spirit
- Observes and follows safety procedures
Responsibilities
- Operate shop machinery to fabricate complex parts and products
- Collaborate with management on projects and customer specifications
- Load/unload materials onto machines
- Complete maintenance and upkeep on machines
- Check work through measuring tools and quality control procedures
- Work with complex build documents and drawings
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace/shop
