Jabil is looking to add an experienced Sr. Environmental Health Safety (EHS) Engineer to develop and lead EHS initiatives at our site in Mebane, NC! How will you make an impact? In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies. This role focuses on proactive risk management, continuous improvement, and fostering a strong safety culture within our manufacturing operations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Environmental/Biological Sciences, Industrial hygiene, or related subject highly preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in an EHS role within an industrial environment, preferably injection molding manufacturing or other high-volume production setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant EHS regulations and standards.
  • Previous experience successfully building a safety culture
  • Must have the ability to build relationships and influence decisions
  • Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and influence all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Competent in MS Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) are highly preferred
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and their application to EHS is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001) across assigned facilities.
  • Conduct comprehensive EHS risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and develop effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Ensure full compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, specific local ordinances).
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, supervisors, and management to raise awareness and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Manage environmental permits, waste management programs, air emissions reporting, and water discharge compliance.
  • Oversee industrial hygiene monitoring, ergonomic assessments, and develop strategies to mitigate identified hazards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and human resources, to integrate EHS considerations into all aspects of operations.
  • Prepare and submit all required EHS reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead and participate in EHS audits, inspections, and reviews to identify non-compliance and opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive a culture of safety by promoting employee engagement, leading safety committees, and recognizing positive safety behaviors.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure its proper use and maintenance.
  • Manage EHS-related documentation, record-keeping, and data analysis to track performance and trends.
