The Environmental Compliance Program Specialist Senior ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental statutes and regulations for Gulfstream locations. This position will have direct responsibility for all environmental programs at the site and support responsibilities for other East coast facilities. The role involves environmental data specification, collection, organization, analysis, and reporting to internal and external groups.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local environmental regulations promulgated under the Clean Water Act (CWA), Clean Air Act (CAA), Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Oil Pollution Act (OPA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), and the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA).
  • Maintain all data as required by environmental permits or regulations.
  • Prepare and submit all associated reports.
  • Oversee facilities infrastructure projects as they relate to compliance with federal, state, and local air, water, and waste regulations.
  • Manage consultants to bring environmental projects to completion on time and within budget.
  • Act as the focal point of contact for regulatory interface on all levels to ensure program compliance with multiple state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Perform technical analysis of environmental data to support corporate environmental metrics or agency (federal, state, local) reporting.
  • Establish procedures to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Prepare and/or deliver environmental training programs in conjunction with Gulfstream University.
  • Participate in corporate environmental audit program and document and track corrective action.
  • Manage corrective action measures in response to external agencies.
  • Coordinate internal and external EMS audit programs and registration audits.
  • Prepare and implement policies, procedures and/or work instructions ensuring compliance with Gulfstream Environmental Management Policy, regulatory requirements, and ISO 14001-based Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements.
  • Manage and integrate environmental software solutions to improve business performance.
  • Implement and maintain programs and associated documentation to foster continuous improvement of the EMS consistent with the requirements of ISO 14001.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001-based EMS.
  • Oversee all operations related to wastewater treatment including supervision of Wastewater Operator.
  • Manage and participate in Sustainability Program and complete data collection/manipulation to support sustainability goals.
  • Coordinate spill response.
  • Assist on Safety and SMS related projects, questions, processes.
  • Coordinate collection of environmental data from other Gulfstream locations.
  • Maintain selected corporate databases.
  • Maintain required professional licensure pertinent to respective programs.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • 8 years experience in providing environmental compliance oversight for all media in an industrial setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of ISO 14001 EMS requirements.
  • Professional Certification preferred.
  • Familiarization with the determination of air emissions from industrial processes, air pollution control equipment operation, CAA permitting procedures, and air pollutant modeling.
  • Physical/chemical wastewater treatment experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Access, and Web-based Software Solutions.
