About The Position

Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to join Cabin Electronics Power Team in Kirkland, WA. The Cabin Electronics Product Group is the world's leading manufacturer of in-seat power systems for the commercial airline industry. The group's EmPower® product line provides a variety of scalable power solutions for aircraft passenger cabins and flight decks. The system is used by over 280 airlines, IFE suppliers, and all major aircraft OEM manufacturers worldwide. The Sr. Engineering Technician will perform complex technical tasks to assist engineers with electronic systems and technical activities relating to Cabin Product Support. This role involves experience in equipment build, repair, and troubleshooting to component level coupled with accurate document control for FAA reporting.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (AS) in Electronics Technology or related field, or equivalent electronics military schooling and experience required.
  • Demonstrates proficiency (typically 4-6 years of direct experience in the duties and responsibilities of the position).
  • Advanced electrical/electronic circuit and component knowledge.
  • Intermediate knowledge of power supplies.
  • Aerospace equipment test experience, such as DO-160 testing, preferred.

  • Occasionally lift heavy (< 40 lbs.) items.
  • Color differentiation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering activities such as, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, or specialized test equipment.
  • Work from knowledge, skills and abilities to generate conceptual plans based on discussions, notional diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, or layouts to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
  • Perform engineering qualification testing and troubleshooting.
  • Determine methods or actions to remedy complex malfunctions.
  • Design, construct, test and verify test equipment.
