About The Position

Develops designs, layouts, construction drawings, and a bill of material for large projects and complex systems involving the installation/removal/modification of utility infrastructure on Exelon's electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas and telecommunication facilities/systems. Performs field engineering and provides designs for both internal and external customers. May coordinate, track and monitor the electrical requirements of New Business projects to meet customer need dates. Interprets and applies engineering standards and memos. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a technical field and 3 or more years of technical experience, an associate's degree in a technical field and 5 or more years of technical experience, or 7 or more years of technical experience or relevant education if non-degreed or a non-technical degree.
  • Successful completion of the Technician Occupations Selection Systems (TECH) test, unless exempted by a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply problem-solving approaches.
  • Knowledge of construction, operations or engineering principles and practices.
  • Broad knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform routine assignments.
  • Proficient Computer Drawing and Computer Assisted Design skills.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant education/experience in military roles (transmission, distribution, gas, power systems, etc.), project management, journey-level electrician or gas technician, field operations, or other utility related experience.
  • Experience in company sponsored training programs (ex. PowerUp Academy) or other educational programs.

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $85,600.00/Yr. – $117,700.00/Yr.
