As a Test Automation Developer on our Angular product team, you will design, build, and maintain automated tests using Playwright to ensure our customer-facing web experiences are reliable, accessible, and performant. You’ll work closely with engineers, product managers, and quality engineers to embed testing into the development lifecycle and support continuous delivery. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications. In this capacity, you’ll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in test automation for web applications.
  • Strong programming skills in TypeScript or JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience building UI test automation with Playwright (or equivalent modern browser automation tools, with willingness to move to Playwright).
  • Experience testing Angular or other modern SPA frameworks (React, Vue, etc.), including working with dynamic DOM, routes, and APIs.
  • Solid understanding of testing best practices (unit, integration, E2E, smoke, regression, test pyramid, mocking, and stubs).
  • Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and working with Git-based workflows.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across UI, API, and environment issues.
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
  • Two or more years of analysis and technology experience.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to tackle moderately sophisticated business and development problems.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with page object patterns, test design patterns, and modular test frameworks.
  • Exposure to API testing (e.g., Postman, REST clients, or Playwright API testing).
  • Experience with cloud-based environments and containerized test execution (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Familiarity with accessibility testing tools and practices for web applications.
  • Experience in large, regulated, or enterprise environments (financial services/insurance a plus).
  • Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement end-to-end UI test automation for Angular applications using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript).
  • Build and maintain reliable, reusable test frameworks, page objects, and utilities that can be extended by the team.
  • Collaborate with developers and product owners to translate requirements and user flows into test scenarios and automation coverage.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions/Harness/Jenkins) and keep builds green and meaningful.
  • Monitor, triage, and debug flaky or failing tests, working with engineers to identify root causes and improve application/test design.
  • Define and track test coverage across critical user journeys, regression packs, smoke tests, and production validation checks.
  • Contribute to test data strategy (creating, managing, and cleaning test data for repeatable tests).
  • Champion quality engineering practices: shift-left testing, code reviews for test code, pairing with developers, and improving tooling and standards.
  • Support accessibility, performance, and security considerations within automated test suites where appropriate.
  • Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards and best practices.
  • Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
  • Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
  • Manages project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.
