About The Position

Overview The ideal candidate will have a background in medical device research and development, with a focus on implantable biologic materials and the ability to apply engineering, biological, materials science and related chemistry knowledge to support product development, tech transfers and new research projects. Responsibilities Support the development of LeMaitre’s current biological product portfolio, including updating and developing of new test procedures, expanding product portfolio and designing new manufacturing processes. Support new biologic product transfer, including updating and improving manufacturing processes, tissue and solution testing and general understanding of new processes. Research into new implantable biological products that fit the LeMaitre portfolio, including literature review, bench studies and early product development. Design and validate manufacturing steps for the processing of biologic tissue. Design and perform analytical testing of biologic materials across multiple specialty disciplines in biologic medical device development including analytical chemistry, bioanalysis, process engineering and materials science. Understanding of experimental design, execution and data analysis. Perform routine testing on biological tissue, including chemical and biological assays, histology, and mechanical testing. Comfortable with exposure to human and animal tissue. Pay range $120,000-$135,000 per year plus bonus. The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base pay range for this job at the time of posting. The actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors such as education, qualifications, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Qualifications BS or MS degree in Biomedical/Bio/Chemical Engineering and 5-7 years experience. Experience with biomaterials used in regenerative medicine. Chemistry/Biology education/knowledge, preferred. Life Sciences background (cell, tissue, physiology, biochemistry, chemistry, etc.) preferred. Highly technical understanding of biologic materials. Demonstration of creative problem solving of complex biologics materials. A basic knowledge of analytical chemistry and bioanalytical procedures a plus.
