About The Position

Seeking world-class talent to join the world’s leading distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts and value-added services operating 5,500+ locations and servicing more than 20,000 locations in the U.S and Canada. Specifically, this role will function as a hands-on Senior PeopleSoft Administrator that manages all PeopleSoft production and non-production environments for various modules like FSCM and HCM. This includes installations, patches and upgrades, data refreshes, performance tuning, system maintenance and monitoring and troubleshooting of web and application servers and associated process schedulers and developing and advancing best practices and tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science or related field.
  • 2 years (5+ preferred) years system administration experience in production PeopleSoft environments.
  • Strong working knowledge in the installation, security, administration, monitoring and tuning of PeopleTools 8.4x, 8.5x, 8.6x and PeopleSoft 9.x infrastructure.
  • Strong working knowledge in installation, administration and tuning of Oracle WebLogic, Tuxedo, Elastic Search, JDK/JRE, Visual Cobol, OpenSearch.
  • Strong working knowledge in deployment of PeopleTools and PeopleSoft applications using DPKs.
  • Strong working knowledge of Change Assistant and hands on experience applying PeopleSoft maintenance and application/Tools upgrades and PUM.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL with prior experiences in Oracle DB 12c/19c Administration.
  • Proficiency in UNIX Shell scripting for automation of various maintenance jobs for application and web server, process scheduler and filesystems.
  • Strong experience in debugging/troubleshooting techniques for technical issues related to infrastructure components that include application and web server, process scheduler, integration broker, database servers and load balancers.
  • Orientation toward detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple tasks effectively, learn quickly and thrive in a constantly changing systems environment.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Install, administer, secure and maintain the infrastructure supporting the PeopleSoft applications, including web servers, database servers, application servers, process scheduler, report servers, and file servers in Windows and Linux OS platforms.
  • Research issues with application middleware, database, etc. and recommends/applies solutions such as configuration changes to O/S, WebLogic, PeopleSoft, Tuxedo or additional hardware, memory, CPUs etc.
  • Document and update standards for PeopleSoft architecture and configuration as well as day-to-day operational procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain PeopleSoft system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning.
  • Participate in Business Continuity exercises with periodic testing of application fail over for Disaster Recovery.
  • Identify, download, track and apply PeopleTools and PeopleSoft application upgrades and patches and CPUs for WebLogic, Tuxedo, JDK/JRE etc., Proactively research available and future releases of PeopleTools and recommend improvements/use of appropriate solutions/tools/security to application groups.
  • Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Serve in a 24/7 on-call capacity, working evenings and/or weekends as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
