Candidate’s main responsibility will be providing guidance and support in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Facility Ratings in compliance with NERC Reliability Standard FAC-008. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure that Facility Ratings are developed based on technically sound principles and are accurately documented. He/She will also have a supporting role for other O&P Functions and NERC Standards.

Requirements

• Experience: Experience in the electric utility industry, particularly in areas related to transmission and generation.
• Knowledge: Knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards, especially FAC-008.
• Skills: Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
• Bachelor's - Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
• Experience:5+ years

Nice To Haves

• Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license or NERC certification.
• Additional Experience: Previous experience as an SME for NERC standards or involvement in NERC compliance activities
• Supervisor/Management Experience:0+ years

Responsibilities

• Develop and Maintain Documentation: Create and update documentation for determining Facility Ratings of generator and/or transmission facilities.
• Methodology Development: Develop and maintain methodologies and processes for determining Facility Ratings, ensuring they comply with NERC standards.
• Compliance Assurance: Ensure that Facility Ratings do not exceed the most limiting applicable Equipment Rating of the individual equipment that comprises the facility.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with Engineering & Construction, Power Generation, Compliance and Ethics and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and consistent application of Facility Ratings.
• Training and Support: Provide training and support to internal teams and stakeholders on FAC-008 requirements and methodologies.
• Audit Preparation: Assist in preparing for and responding to NERC audits related to Facility Ratings as well as meeting NextEra internal controls to ensure compliance.
• Support Role: Assist and Support O&P Team on developing and maintaining Processes for other NERC Standards such as MOD-032 and EOP-012
• Plans and develops engineering projects concerned with unique or controversial complexities which have important impact on major company programs
• Acts as technical liaison to individuals within and outside the organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to individual's field
• Completes assignments given in broad terms concerning general objectives and limitations
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
