The Sr Software Engineer, (Data) is a key player in designing and developing robust data architectures on Azure, leveraging a comprehensive platform for data engineering. This role involves close collaboration with Data Engineers to analyze, architect, design, and develop data warehouse and business analytics solutions on-premise, in the cloud, and on hybrid platforms. As a mentor, the Sr Data Engineer guides other team members, enhancing their data engineering skillsets and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. With a focus on Azure data solutions, the Sr Software Engineer, (Data), ensures the delivery of high-performing, efficient, and reliable data services that align with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related subject area or equivalent experience.
  • 4-7 years of technical engineering experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Analytical approach to problem-solving; ability to use technology to tackle business problems.
  • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data' data stores.
  • Ability to manage work across multiple projects, good organizational skills.
  • Security (TLS, Kerberos, Encryption).
  • Cloud solutions using data series; experience with cloud platforms (Azure, Databricks).
  • Monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus.
  • Passionate about learning new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop data engineering solutions on Azure, including robust data pipelines, Databricks notebooks, and analytical tools to drive business insights.
  • Design and develop data architectures that leverage Azure's capabilities for cloud platforms, ensuring scalability and security.
  • Perform data wrangling of heterogeneous data, employing Azure tools for exploration and discovery to unearth new business insights.
  • Actively contribute to the team's collective knowledge, driving the adoption of new Azure capabilities and data engineering practices.
  • Mentor team members in Azure data engineering skillsets, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Assist in project definition, helping to estimate, plan, and scope work within Azure's framework to align with business objectives.
  • Fulfill other duties/projects as assigned by business management, demonstrating versatility and adaptability in meeting diverse needs.
