Overview The Data Services Engineer will be part of the Data Services team under the Information Technology Services and Solutions group that will design and develop data applications and integrations for eBay’s global business and corporate services. This hands-on role will have the responsibility of developing, leading, and being responsible for multiple data and integration related technology activities at a time. The candidate will provide architectural solutions, lead software development teams, perform software development, build POC, product and tool road maps, partner with multiple application development teams across the globe to influence business solutions and co-ordinate multiple data and integration projects across the enterprise. You will also be part of designing and overseeing the delivery of functional & technical components for data catalog solutions. You will partner closely with production teams, design and develop dev-ops solutions and ensure smooth handoffs to sustaining teams and design solutions that are stable, scalable, and optimized for monitoring as well as participate in support operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • 8+ years related experience with at least 5 years in a lead technical role.
  • Experience in building high availability, scalable, and secure integrations solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in technology delivery, including Analysis, Development, and implementation of Enterprise Data & Application Integration projects.
  • Experience Designing and developing technical specs.
  • Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Strong hands on Experience in middleware tools such as Talend Cloud ESB, Talend ETL. This includes Design, Development, best practices, performance tuning & troubleshooting, security, Batch jobs, Real time transactions and web-service design.
  • Strong hands on Experience with Workday Integrations.
  • Strong experiences of Java SE, Java EE, JMS, XML, XSL, Web Services and other application integration related technologies.
  • Development experience with understanding of REST, SOAP, UDDI, WS-Security, SOA Governance, Web Service Management tools.
  • Strong experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL (Or other leading RDBMS such as MySQL or SQL Server).
  • Real world experience on ETL tools like Talend ETL or Informatica.
  • Experience with tools like SoapUI , Fiddler, Postman.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux command-line& scripting.
  • Working knowledge of Linux, Solaris and Windows servers.
  • Knowledge of basic systems network principles.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Cloud Integration platforms experience like Ariba, Workday, Salesforce is a plus.
  • Exposure to current data trends: data hubs, data lakes, big data, advanced analytics concepts is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good understanding of Unix/Linux systems
  • Strong affinity to quickly learn and adapt new technologies like Mulesoft
  • Ability to think out of the box in solving complex problems

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, lead and manage Integration initiatives
  • Provide architectural solutions, create POC's, document the process, integration product upgrades, and continuously improve API, ESB, ETL, SOA, BPM and stay ahead of with new technologies
  • Coach the team with standard methodologies, delegate the task ownership for technical delivery of Integration solutions. Additionally, mentor other engineers or alternate workforce by providing advice and standard methodology guidance.
  • Develop strong engineering practices, participate in all aspects of SDLC including requirement/design reviews as well as code reviews, testing, cut-over planning and code roll-out
  • Conducts design and code reviews and provides technical direction at all levels of designers, developers, and implementers.
  • Design and socialize canonical domain models and processes that are tailored to the global ITSS functions.
  • Help identify technical project risks and work effectively to mitigate them.
  • Partner with business groups, functional teams, system admin
  • Establish positive relationships with all business partners through a strong commitment to high quality and on time delivery

  • Manage Workday Cloud (HCM) solutions using EIB, RaaS, CoreConnect and Studio Integrations.
  • Manage middleware tools, such as Talend ESB, Talend ETL.
  • Develop software solutions involving REST, SOAP, UDDI, WS-Security, SOA Governance, Web Service Management tools, Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, versioning, change control and problem management
  • Establish processes for monitoring frameworks, and analyzing production platforms, UNIX servers and mission-critical systems with logging/alerting and self-healing integration solutions
  • Build software solutions using Node, Angular, Java, JMS, XML, XSL, Web Services and other application integration related technologies
  • Knowledge of security best practices and monitoring of systems and services hosted in the cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS etc.)
