We have multiple openings for Sr. Electronics Technologists . You will develop, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, operate, and maintain experimental, research, and prototype equipment associated with mechanical systems in the National Ignition Facility and Photon Science Directorate (NIF & PS). This position is in the Laser Systems Engineering and Operations (LSEO) Division, within the Engineering Directorate. This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work. In this role, you will Independently deploy, troubleshoot, assemble, and disassemble complex electronic systems, including planning and selecting materials and equipment, interpreting standards, establishing methods, and setting priorities. Independently identify, analyze, and provide solutions and alternative approaches to complex problems using advanced creativity and judgment. Develop, author, implement, assess, or modify instructional guides for repairing, calibrating, operating, and maintaining equipment and systems. Interpret standards and use advanced technical skills to evaluate and recommend methods and priorities for routine electronics maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment. Provide advanced technical support to engineering tests, physics experiments, and program operations. Assist in developing complex test parameters, troubleshooting and testing materials, components, or systems, identifying problems, and providing input on solutions. Contribute to complex preliminary design concepts and engineering decision process. Prioritize and provide work and technical guidance to others by checking for accuracy, completeness, and function. Plan, organize, mentor, and lead projects of limited scope to meet defined objectives and schedules. Perform other duties as assigned.
