Moog Space and Defense Group is looking for a Sr Electrical Packaging Engineer to perform the conceptual design, analysis, development and testing of complex flight controls systems used on Defense applications. You’ll be responsible for the electronic packaging of complex electronic hardware that may involve thermal and structural analysis. This position requires a high degree of foresight and creativity to anticipate and solve unprecedented engineering problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 6 yrs of experience
  • Demonstrated ability in packaging electrical components such as Circuit Card Assemblies, Connectors, and cables, including design, integration and validation in environments including ground, avionics and/or space
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and analytical background with the ability to understand and guide analyses and offer solutions related to mechanical, electro-mechanical, and opto-mechanical systems. Types of analysis include thermal, structural, and dynamic.
  • Self-motivated, critical thinking and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work onsite in East Aurora, NY (remote candidates will not be considered).
  • The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Aptitude and willingness to lead, train, and mentor junior engineers preferred.
  • Demonstrated CAD proficiency
  • Familiarity with Packaging Electrical Components

Responsibilities

  • Lead as a key element in a team of creative, independent individuals.
  • Contribute to the development of new products through consulting with customers and sales personnel.
  • Consult on new product and market development efforts.
  • Prepare successful proposal designs and concepts, along with cost and schedule estimates.
  • Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses.
  • Shares vales of “teamwork is a must” and thus good communication is key.
