About the position

The position involves designing PCBs and PCBAs used in manufacturing testing and automation. The role requires defining digital design elements, such as CPLDs, FPGA, and microcontrollers, and their interaction with other hardware and software blocks. The candidate will select PCB materials with respect to application, applying the latest technologies while considering performance. Additionally, the role includes selecting analog, digital, and RF components from multiple sources, focusing on high-speed performance and usability for test and automation applications. The candidate will negotiate performance requirements and pricing with vendors, collect and clarify product specifications, and distill them into requirements for testing and automation. The position also involves architecting new test system approaches, ensuring adherence to documented processes, and providing sustaining engineering for the production test process, including test process improvements. Mentoring other hardware designers, participating in product design reviews, and supporting operations metrics such as on-time delivery and quality are also key responsibilities. The candidate is expected to ensure a high standard of ethics, professionalism, leadership, competency, and quality across the department.
