In this role, you will be responsible for wire harness routing and installation design using 3D CAD software, specifically Siemens NX. You will follow industry best practices and guidance for the design and installation of wire harnesses, including standards such as AC 43.13-1B, AS50881, and ASTM F2639. Your expertise will be utilized to select the best components for specific design applications and requirements, ensuring optimal positioning of aircraft components, equipment, and support structures for wire routing while considering safety, weight, and installation ease. Additionally, you will provide installation instructions and guidance for the assembly and integration of harnesses and associated subcomponents into the aircraft. You will also create and apply inspection criteria for manufactured and installed components, track changes throughout the aircraft's lifetime using strong configuration and change management skills, and seek alternative solutions for wire routing in challenging areas.
