About The Position

GFT is seeking a Sr. Project Manager/Engineer, Electrical to join our Buildings and Places Business Group. This role follows a hybrid work model at either of our New York, NY, Mechanicsburg, PA, Baltimore, MD, Philadelphia, PA, Fairfax, VA, East Brunswick, NJ or Washington, DC offices. At GFT, the electrical team is dedicated to creating efficient, innovative solutions for electrical systems, ensuring comfort and sustainability in every project. Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years experience in the A/E/C industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Revit MEP, AutoCad, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management of a team of engineers/designers to complete electrical design projects.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines as required for a successful project.
  • Interface with clients and owners.
  • Writing project specifications.
  • Managing project budgets.
  • Meet with clients for the purposes of obtaining future work.
  • Design building and site lighting systems.
  • Size, coordinate, and specify lighting fixtures and electrical distribution equipment.
  • Calculate and analyze electrical loads.
  • Perform lighting calculations to ensure adequate light distribution and energy-efficient design.
  • Provide design support in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
  • Attend meetings with the project team, including architects and other engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure electrical design complies with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Prepare documentation for permit applications and agency review.
  • Perform construction site visits and write field reports.
