As part of their goal to be North America's most highly regarded provider of thermal and strip processing technology ANDRITZ METALS Inc. is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Electrical Engineer. Typical projects include all aspects relating to industrial furnaces to steel, aluminum and strip processing manufacturers. Typical project scope includes combustion/controls upgrades, furnace rebuilds, field service, and complete equipment design/supply/install/commissioning.

Requirements

BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
NFPA 86 guidelines with regard to electrical design requirements.
Knowledge with typical PLC systems and I/O wiring details.
Design and layout of motor control centers.
Minimum of 10 years' experience in design, project engineering and start-up of similar equipment.
Experience with industrial furnaces in the steel and aluminum industries.
Experience with electrical design and NEC standards, single-lines, three line design, I/O schematics. A general knowledge of drive control, combustion, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems desired.
Experience designing with CAD software such as AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical.
Problem solving skills with the ability to become hands on involved when needed.
Strong communication, organizing, planning, and inter-personal skills.
Willing and able to travel for erection and commissioning both domestically and internationally.
Must be proficient with Microsoft office products.

Nice To Haves

PLC I/O software configuration experience is a plus (Rockwell, Siemens, etc.).
EIT or PE certification a plus.

Responsibilities

Overall project technical responsibility and coordination.
Larger projects (above $300K), this position would include a Senior role as a lead electrical.
Electrical design and functional description writing for the various systems.
Electrical calculations for current consumption, heating and cooling loads, etc.
Performs design calculations and prepare equipment or material specifications
Technical purchasing specification and requisition writing
Fabrication and panel inspections
Attend customer technical meetings
Develop and maintain project work schedules
Project cold and hot commissioning
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
Must have initiative. Will work independently and collectively. Must possess a strong desire to learn and build technical knowledge.
Domestic and international travel is required including potential for longer duration travel associated with startup/commissioning duties. Must be physically capable to perform required activities associated with onsite work
