About The Position

The Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for overseeing the Electrical discipline at a project level and managing the project discipline budget on simple to complex projects of all sizes. The Sr. Electrical Engineer has a thorough understanding of the development and field implementation of Electrical documents through all project phases. They possess the ability to coordinate with internal and external parties, manage multiple complex tasks, establish priorities and direct the work of others. They're responsible for directing and managing the workflows and execution of electrical design and engineering support staff (Entry-Level to Senior) to meet client expectation and project goals.

Requirements

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting
  • Professional Registration in Massachusetts

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments
  • Advanced experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing electrical lighting, power, and special systems designs
  • Advanced experience with the electrical code
  • Intermediate experience with applicable building codes
  • Advanced experience conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and support of field reporting
  • Proficient with advanced internal and external cross-discipline project team coordination
  • Proficient with advanced coordination with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers
  • Proficient at advanced electrical lighting, power, and special systems design calculations with limited supervision
  • Intermediate experience with troubleshooting issues with electrical and systems

Responsibilities

  • Interface with client and external partners
  • Plan and direct work and manage a project budget form an electrical design perspective on large complex projects
  • Identify and resolve intermediate non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveys
  • Develop intermediate internal electrical design and engineering training presentations
  • Lead and advanced support of construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list
  • Development, and construction progress reports
  • Conduct quality checking of documents for intermediate complex projects, e.g. technical verification of design calculations and documentation, and drive overall project quality
  • Provide mentorship to Electrical Engineer I and II and/or Designer I and II
  • Lead advanced project system design programming and master planning with support from Senior Engineer
  • Lead a team of discipline staff in the execution of advanced projects electrical design and Engineering
  • Work with a Project Manager to proposal development, man-hour planning, project scheduling for the electrical discipline scope of work on intermediate level projects.
