Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our Cabin Electronics Product Support Group in Kirkland, WA. The Cabin Electronics Product Group is the world's leading manufacturer of in-seat power systems for the commercial airline industry. The group's EmPower® product line provides a variety of scalable power solutions for aircraft passenger cabins and flight decks. The system is used by over 280 airlines, IFE suppliers, and all major aircraft OEM manufacturers worldwide.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Five years related experience, preferably with electrical design of power supply products.
  • Advanced understanding of analog, digital and power electrical/electronic circuits.
  • Familiarity/experience using embedded software (C, C++), HTML scripts, and software life cycles.
  • Familiarity/experience with DO-160, Boeing, and/or Airbus EMI, power quality, and susceptibility requirements.
  • Familiarity/experience with D0-254 procedures, documents and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide production support to Operations and problem resolution support to Customer Return & Repair/Program Management for Cabin Electronics products.
  • Address the resolution of manufacturing and field related problems.
  • Develop and evaluate design and process improvements.
  • Address component obsolescence.
  • Conduct verification testing associated with design changes.
  • Support products with AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC power conversion, magnetics design, PCB layout, and EMI filtering.
  • Work in a cross-functional team, including test engineers, technicians, mechanical engineers, program management, software, manufacturing, and supply chain.
  • Develop a collaborative relationship with other engineering staff and share knowledge with junior staff members and interns.
