About The Position
As a Sr. Designer you will be responsible for designing technical drawings for high voltage substation systems. The job role involves creating detailed electrical designs for new substation projects, updating existing drawings as needed, and communicating with clients about changes. You will coordinate with architects, contractors, and other construction professionals to ensure the design is feasible for the intended purpose. Additionally, you will perform calculations to determine the voltage drop across conductors, transformer capacities, and amperage drawn from electrical equipment. You will also review and revise design plans to ensure compliance with building codes and electrical standards, create electrical schematics and diagrams using computer-aided design (CAD) software, prepare estimates of material costs and labor hours for projects, conduct design reviews and checks to ensure accuracy and consistency, and manage any corrections of technical issues during project execution.
