About The Position

GFT is seeking a Sr. Electrical Designer to join our Buildings and Places Business Group in Fife, WA! This role is full time on site (5 days a week) at our Fife, WA location. At Gannett Fleming TranSystems, the electrical team is dedicated to creating efficient, innovative solutions for electrical systems, ensuring comfort and sustainability in every project. From energy-efficient power systems to advanced HVAC and plumbing designs, our team contributes to a resilient and sustainable built environment, pushing the boundaries of building system design and optimizing performance while addressing the unique needs of each facility. Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in the A/E/C industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Authorization to work in the United States (required).

Responsibilities

  • Design and model building and site power systems.
  • Design and model building and site lighting systems.
  • Size, coordinate, and specify lighting fixtures and electrical distribution equipment.
  • Calculate and analyze electrical loads.
  • Perform lighting calculations to ensure adequate light distribution and energy-efficient design.
  • Provide design support in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
  • Attend meetings with the project team, including architects and other engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure electrical design complies with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Prepare documentation for permit applications and agency review.
  • Perform site visits and write field reports.
  • Assist project managers to troubleshoot design and construction challenges.
