About The Position

The Sr. Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for assisting the sales team in client meetings and presentations, managing engineering project teammates, and overseeing budgets for Investment Grade Audits and Pre-Construction Services Proposals. The role involves creating and managing the scope of work for Facility Improvement Measures (FIMs) and ensuring clear communication with clients. The engineer will work closely with construction managers to establish Guaranteed Maximum Construction Costs (GMAX) and will review methodologies for energy savings verification. The position requires maintaining project schedules and providing both preliminary and final designs for the projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent required
  • PE required
  • Proficient in Revit
  • 7 to 15 years of experience in Building Electrical Systems Design, Energy Services Performance Contracting, or Energy Retrofit Design/Build project development required
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills
  • Willing to work and thrive in team atmosphere

Responsibilities

  • Assist the sales team in client meetings and presentations
  • Manage engineering project teammates and provide coaching and mentoring in their career development
  • Create, manage, and oversee the budgets for the Investment Grade Audits and/or Pre-Construction Services Proposals
  • Create, manage, and develop the scope of work for the Facility Improvement Measures (FIMs)
  • Work with the assigned construction manager to build the Guaranteed Maximum Construction Costs (GMAX) for projects
  • Review the assumptions and methodologies used in building the guaranteed energy savings
  • Manage project schedules and communicate changes in a dynamic environment
  • Maintain clear and concise verbal and written communications with the client
  • Provide preliminary and final designs for the project’s FIMs
