Responsibilities

  • Conducting 6S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Safety, Sustain) walkthroughs of production and non-production areas.
  • Identifying and escalating EHS issues to the appropriate internal department managers or external company contacts.
  • Assisting with department and area EHS inspections during the audit preparation process and audit events, related to Customer audits, ISO audits, and other third-party audits and assessments.
  • Ensuring compliance with site EHS procedures and policies.
  • Participating in daily production meetings and shift startup meetings when requested to communicate EHS information.
  • Participating in monthly meetings with site management and global EHS team members.
  • Maintaining knowledge of the current facility layout, locations of EHS equipment, EHS policies, and EHS procedures.
  • Delivering EHS training as indicated on the training matrix and delivering EHS orientation training when scheduled by Human Resources.
  • Partnering with internal or third-party training resources when needed.
  • Completing assigned training in online LMS (Learning Management System).
  • Partnering with external consultants, engineering firms, insurance firms, and insurance brokers when needed.
  • Assisting with the onboarding of new EHS team members.
  • Assisting the Procurement team in the evaluation of contractors, vendors, and suppliers with EHS criteria.
  • Partnering with the Procurement team to order safety-related supplies in alignment with the Finance budget.
  • Partnering with the Procurement team to identify cost savings and sustainability opportunities.
  • Using SAP to enter in purchase requisitions and process work cycles.
  • Completing EHS questionnaires, surveys, and qualification forms for customer requests.
  • Participating in quarterly Risk Hunts, identifying and documenting hazards, and communicating issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Completing and distributing site monthly EHS reports, including metrics, highlights, and lowlights.
  • Completing annual site OSHA regulatory reports.
  • On an annual basis, gathering and entering in site environmental data for applicable Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.
  • Completing annual chemical inventory surveys for chemical storage areas.
  • Reviewing EHS-related mail, processing correspondence, and delivering or filing where needed.
  • Maintaining hard copy files and electronic (shared drive and Teams group) files.
  • Supporting EHS needs for digital transformation and automation initiatives.
  • Maintaining site EHS information, including EHS action items and risk assessments, in Quentic (EHS Database).
  • Conducting EHS equipment reviews of new, modified, or moved equipment in the facility.
  • Assisting in the development and review of applicable policies, procedures, and systems to achieve and maintain the site’s ISO certifications.
  • Assisting in the review of EHS procedures and policies and providing recommendations for changes and additions.
  • Ensuring that updated controlled documents are passed through the controlled document approval process properly.
  • Submitting the “First Report of Injury” to the worker’s compensation insurance provider.
  • Partnering with the Human Resources team to gather employee information for reporting purposes.
  • Providing requested EHS information to the worker’s compensation claims professionals and providing company contacts for non-EHS information.
  • Reporting and monitoring of current workers’ compensation claims with the Human Resources team.
  • Assisting Supervisors with completion of incident reports and incident investigations when requested.
  • Logging EHS metrics in the PowerBI database for daily management review.
  • Coordinating EHS meetings, preparing meeting agendas and summaries, and communicating summaries to attendees.
  • Preparing and distributing Safety Minutes and Toolbox Talk briefings based on seasonal or other timely issues.
  • Preparing EHS-related site communication and distributing information to applicable groups.
  • Enter in EHS incident information and other EHS metrics in Quentic database.
  • Enter in safety-related maintenance requests in CMMS SAPPM.
  • Monitoring progress and following up on assigned corrective and preventive action items.
  • Conducting Behavior Based Safety observations, collecting observation cards, managing the observation database, and following up with individuals who have not yet reached their monthly observation target.
  • Reviewing EHS-related contractor project documentation, leading contractor EHS Orientation for new contractors, and participating in contractor meetings when needed.
  • Reviewing recorded video upon request (related to potential or actual safety incidents) using Avigilon and Meraki.
  • Assisting with the administration of initiatives and events, such as emergency drills and the annual Safety Week event.
  • Providing backup support when other team members are unavailable.
  • Responding to general EHS inquiries.
  • Voluntarily serving as a site First Responder.
  • Completing assigned training and achieving goals outlined in the professional development plan.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned or requested
