About The Position

GE Vernova's Power Conversion & Storage business combines advanced energy conversion and storage systems to meet the electrification needs of utilities and industries. With a focus on power stability, energy storage and industrial electrification solutions, Power Conversion & Storage empowers customers by addressing their most complex electrification challenges and accelerating their transition to a sustainable, decarbonized future. The Sr. Drive System Engineer will provide technical leadership in the application of Variable Systems in Naval, Commercial Marine, and General Industries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of advanced experience in the Engineering/Technology & Systems Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Define system requirements based on customer specifications and project objectives.
  • Conduct system-level simulations and analyses to optimize performance and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Perform system-level testing and validation to verify functionality and performance.
  • Plan and execute drive system upgrades.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate subsystems and components into the overall system design.
  • Ensure the earliest mobilization of adequate engineering skills and resources in line with engineering activities requirements (workload and complexity) and associated budgets.
  • Issue/prepare change orders from an engineering point of view with the Project Manager for further release to the Customer.
  • Ensure proper distribution of engineering documents, internally and externally.
  • Participate in CMR (Change Management Review), Project reviews.
  • Provide oversight and training to other engineers in the application of Variable Speed Drive systems.
