About The Position
The position involves processing drawback claims for existing clients, assessing the profitability of drawback for prospective clients, and devising strategies to enhance the profitability of the client's drawback program. The role requires advising both prospective and existing clients on the advantages of employing drawback strategies. The goal is to maximize the clients' drawback program by presenting strategies that can expand the opportunity for refunds. Additionally, the position contributes to product market share by directing and training the T&B sales organization and account managers, as well as identifying target market segments. The role also focuses on enhancing profitability for T&B through the expansion of the client's program by recommending changes in processes or additional drawback contracts. Ensuring consistency of claim filing and compliance is crucial, which involves formulating and maintaining policies and procedures related to drawback. The position requires preparing drawback ruling requests to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) headquarters and other procedural requirements for local CBP drawback offices. Furthermore, the role includes providing drawback operational information and advice on technical matters to other T&B offices by issuing memos, trade bulletins, and tradelines. Engaging in outreach programs such as drawback seminars and presentations is essential for increasing the client base. Keeping abreast of drawback issues and developments by maintaining a current and complete drawback reference library, including both printed and electronic media, is also part of the job. The position requires conducting periodic reviews of internal policies and procedures for compliance and ensuring the integrity of the claim filing process through quarterly audits of claims submitted by T&B. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
