The Sr. DOD Contracts Specialist position is a 6-month contract-to-hire role focused on providing expert advice and management for Department of Defense (DOD) contracts. This specialist will guide business units and project teams on contract management, policy compliance, and federal contracting requirements. Key aspects include responding to complex inquiries, managing contractual obligations throughout the lifecycle, preparing documentation for stakeholders, and proactively resolving contract issues and disputes. The role involves acting as a crucial liaison between internal clients, project teams, business units, and the Legal function, as well as external clients and vendors. The specialist will also be responsible for implementing and overseeing contract management processes, developing tools and templates, and providing training. A solid understanding of the organization’s major business areas, such as system integration and outsourcing, is essential for effective communication with executives and providing business-focused advice. The position supports cradle-to-grave contract management activities, including risk management, from proposal to closeout, and requires presenting contract-related information to executives and contracting officers. This role operates in a hybrid work environment, primarily remote but requiring periodic travel to Chantilly or Arlington, Virginia, for executive and contracting officer meetings. It demands managing a fast-paced workload, multiple priorities, deadlines, and complex contracts within a federal and DoD contracting context.
